About Blumbang

A small workshop that turned into a window.

We started by printing shirts by hand in a small studio in Jeto, Klaten. We're still doing exactly that — only now, the people who make the other beautiful things around us come with us into the world.

Blumbang is a screen-printing studio. That's where it began, and that's still what we do every day — ink, mesh, cloth, by hand.

But Klaten is full of people making extraordinary things quietly: women drawing batik line by line, families shaping stone from the slopes of Merapi, hands weaving things machines will never match.

We grew up beside them. So when the world started asking where to find work like this — real work, made by real hands — we already knew exactly who to call.

Three things we won't bend on.

01

We pay what the work is worth

Not what the market lets us get away with.

02

Quality, never rushed

We turn down work that would force a corner to be cut. Slow isn't a weakness here. It's the point.

03

Neighbors, not brokers

We don't scrape a marketplace for the cheapest supplier. We know these people. We sit in their homes. Want to reach them yourself? If they're willing, we'll connect you.

The people who are usually uncredited.

Most workshops never name the people at the bench. We start with them. Each one speaks for themselves below — in their own words, in their own language. We left it exactly as they said it.
